Fluffy's
I would like the public to be informed about the "Fluffy Mastiff". The Long haired Mastiff is commonly called the Fluffy. This is NOT a new breed of Mastiff, nor is it something that someone has "just created". This is NOT a "rare breed" as some would like you to think if this is how they place an add, or try to describe the Fluff. The long haired mastiff is not as common, because it is considered to be a major fault in the "show world". The Mastiff in AKC standards says a Mastiff is supposed to have a short coat. As in ANY breed of dog, in any human, or any creature, we have what is called recessive genes. The long-haired gene is in the English Mastiff. Some breeders try to hide this, and I feel this should not be hidden. On the other end, I do not like people who "market" dogs as being rare, and try to make an extra dollar. Education is the key.
